Business Think Tank - The HUBCAP hosts a monthly meeting of different businesses in town to join together in a “think tank” where different topics are discussed each month.

Credit for Life - Hubcap Wallingford sponsors this event that is held every February for all tenth grade students in the three high schools. Each student chooses a career and is given a salary that coincides with their career choice. The object of the day is to go through a “Game of life” where they are faced with many different options and road blocks and that they must fit within their budget. We get over 40 different businesses to participate to help facilitate this exercise. The children leave there with a much greater understanding of what it is like to live in the “real world”.

PEP program (Parents Empowering People) - This event is held at the HUBCAP - it takes place weekly for a twelve week period and is funded through a grant from the state. It is run by a facilitator and consists of different people (all parents) coming from different cultures and a wide range of age groups, sitting down and tackling different topics and problems.

Student Art Shows - all three high schools - including art, photography and music. Students come into the HUBCAP and are responsible for choosing and hanging their own artwork. The students plan a “gallery opening” and are responsible for the guest list and greeting the public. The work usually stays on the walls for three to four weeks after the opening.

Realtor meetings - Dr. Menzo - Superintendent of Schools holds annual meetings with the real estate agents in town to present to them the advantages of living in Wallingford as far as the education system and all the other programs this town has to offer prospective buyers. This meeting is held at the HUBCAP and the other departments of the town are invited as well.
